ORCHESTRE NATIONAL DE FRANCE IN DRESDEN AND ITALY
May 29 and June 6-9, 2004
Kurt Masur will lead the Orchestre National de France in concert at the Semper Oper in Dresden on May 29, 2004, in a program featuring Psyché by Franck and Sheherazade by Rimsky-Korsakov. Shortly after this concert, Maestro Masur and the orchestra will travel to Italy for a tour that will visit Naples, Torino, and Lugano from June 6-9. The program for these concerts will feature Dukas: The Sorcerer's Apprentice, Franck: Symphonic Variations and Rimsky-Korsakov: Sheherazade.
ORCHESTRE NATIONAL DE FRANCE IN JAPAN
April 17-25, 2004
Maestro Masur will lead the Orchestre National de France on a tour that will visit many of Japan's leading concert venues. The eight-concert tour will visit Tokyo, Kyoto, Nagoya, and Sapporo. The various programs will feature works of Brahms (several symphonies, plus Piano Concerto No. 2 with soloist Nicolai Angelich), Dukas (The Sorcerer's Apprentice), Mussorgsky/Gorchakov (Pictures at an Exhibition), and Khachaturian (Violin Concerto with soloist Sergey Khachatryan).
LONDON PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA IN EUROPE
February 4-17, 2004
The LPO will travel to Germany, Spain and Greece under the baton of Kurt Masur, in concerts featuring works by Brahms, Beethoven, and Shostakovich. In several of the concerts, Maestro Masur will be joined by Anne-Sophie Mutter, who will perform the Beethoven Violin Concerto, as well as the Beethoven Triple Concertowith Lynn Harrell and André Previnin others.
ORCHESTRE NATIONAL DE FRANCE IN EUROPE
September 13-24, 2003
After a very successful tour of Central and Eastern Europe this past May, Maestro Masur will lead the Orchestre National de France on their second tour together which will take them to eight European cities, September 13-24, to include : Bonn, Verona, Rimini, Ludwigsburg, Linz, Vienna, Frankfurt and Athens.
SCHLESWIG HOLSTEIN MUSIK FESTIVAL ORCHESTRA IN GERMANY
August 25-Spetember 1, 2003
Kurt Masur will lead the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival Orchestra in four concerts at the end of August. The youth orchestra will perform in Hamburg on the 25th, Greifswald on the 30th, Berlin on the 31st, and Leipzig on September 1st.
